Do you agree with Obama that the school day and school year should be longer?

Would longer school days would help us compete globally? Will the problems with education fixed by adding classroom hours?

Personally, I think it would depend on how the extra time in school is spent. But, being married to a man whose family's livlihood is farming, I definitely think some time off during the summer (for wheat harvest and planting) is essential.
